Home - Country - knowledge and use - Gaps and omissions in conservation

In many countries, the location of protected areas has been the result of aesthetic and recreational criteria, and has also been reliant on opportunity. Considering that one of the main objectives of these areas is the protection of biodiversity, it is necessary to review their current operation, size, connectivity and representativeness. Recently, an extensive analysis of the gaps and omissions of conservation in protected areas of Mexico was conducted, focusing on land and marine areas.
