Home - Country - Knowledge and use - Mexico: capacities for conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity
The environmental crisis jeopardizes human welfare and social equity; it is therefore essential to achieve the conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity. The analysis of Mexico´s capacities to achieve this can recognize our achievements and shortfalls in biodiversity management. This is the purpose of the book Mexico: capacities for conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity funded by GEF (Global Environmental Facility) and coordinated by the National Commission for the Knowledge and Use of Biodiversity (CONABIO) and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).
The book assesses the national capacities to generate accessible knowledge for decision-making on biodiversity, in situ conservation and sustainable use, as well as on the existing capacities and the key requirements for the implementation of comprehensive public policies on biodiversity.
