To allow the movement of plants and animals, and the changes in distribution caused by climate change is important to maintain connectivity in the landscape. Corridors (link to corridor home page) are areas where there may be activities of resource use but the original vegetation is intact, allowing the flow of species. When the passage is changed radically, this creates barriers to the dispersal of species. Because many protected areas are of relatively small size, it is important to maintain connectivity in the landscape.
