The functions of CONABIO as promoter of this process are:

• To establish contact with local institutions related to conservation and biodiversity management;
  
  
• To support management processes with local stakeholders and provide institutional support;
  
  
• To facilitate procurement of technical and scientific information to support the development of EE;
  
  
• To encourage communication between agencies, federal institutions and international forums;
  
  
• To collaborate with nongovernmental organizations and institutions with a national presence to support local agencies and form a support network for the successful development of the EEB;
  
  
• To drive the collection and raising of funds for the support and follow-up of workshops, State Study and State Strategy publication; and
  
  
• To communicate, at the national level, the progress of the processes such as the studies in each State.
